The Liverpool Football Club is a club based in the eponymous city in Britain. Plays in the FA Premier League, which is one of the founding members and is affiliated with the Football Association of England.

One of the most successful clubs in the world, having won, among others, 18 national titles (matched by Manchester United in the season 2008/09) and 5 European championships, UEFA Champions League. As a curiosity, never in its history has won a world title despite having played some issues (in the former Intercontinental Cup and the current Club World Cup). However, he never managed to win the FA Premier League, played since 1992, and won their last league was in 1990 when the team was led by Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool, along with Manchester United, one of the biggest teams in English football in terms of degrees earned respect. Has to his credit with 5 European championships against 3 of Manchester United. However, in the last 20 years, Manchester United has regained ground against its eternal rival, winning eleven leagues, five FA Cups and two Champions League. In fact, Manchester United win the current season (in which even the day 26 is first place with 4 points ahead of Arsenal), would reach 19 titles in the English league for the first time since the 1970/71 season displace Liverpool as a top winner in history.

This is a rivalry that dates back to 1897 when Liverpool thrashed 7-1 to the Red Devils to move up to First Division. It was not until the 1920 that the clashes began to take on the classic category. The enmity is so fierce that the last time a player moved from one computer to another, was in 1962, with the attacker Phil Chisnall, who moved from Red Devil Lyver Bird.

Another classic is the one major dispute since 1894, Liverpool FC and his compatriot, Everton FC, Merseyside derby. Both teams, Reds and Blues have a large number of followers in the port city, even among members of one family, so this battle is also known as "The Friendly Derby (Classic friendly)." The stadiums of both teams, Anfield and Goodison Park, are nearby.

Liverpool is part two of the most tragic pages in the history of European football: in 1985 in Brussels (Belgium), when 39 people died because of the incidents caused by English hooligans in the Heysel stadium [1] and in 1989 in Sheffield, where 96 people died as a result of poor organization at the entrance to the Hillsborough stadium bleachers. [2]

Liverpool is a founding member of the G-14, an association of football clubs in Europe in order to obtain more and better joint custody of sports rights, legal and television in front of the UEFA and FIFA.

In recent years, Liverpool were losing ground in both the league and European competitions in 2010 was in a severe economic crisis, so they had to sell the club, now with the return of Kenny Dalglish the technical direction, all confident they will return to the club the prestige it had in England.

[Edit] Tragedy HeyselEl May 29, 1985 experienced one of the darkest episodes in its history, during the final contested the European Cup against Juventus in the Heysel stadium in Brussels so-called "tragedy of Heysel ". The stadium was packed with 60,000 spectators, with more than 25,000 fans from each team. The funding of the stadium behind the goals were no areas where the public seat stood. UEFA handed out to each club hobbies in different areas and some areas reserved for Belgian fans who would attend the game. But many of the tickets reserved for the local public were bought by fans of both teams, so they agreed in the same area.

Outline Heysel.Los Stadium events were triggered on seven in the evening, an hour before the start time of the meeting, in the Z, a ski area located in one of the funds of the stadium with a corner . Z area was mainly occupied by the Juventus fans, but it was appended to the X zone, where there were many Liverpool fans. The most radical supporters of Liverpool FC's Hooligans, located in the X, many of them obviously intoxicated, began throwing objects and rushed over to the fans of Juventus FC located in the zone Z is an avalanche and Juventus fans, trying to move away from Liverpool, were joined at the bottom of the zone, trapped by one party against the wall where it ended the stands, and partly against the fences "protective" separating the stands from the field game. Hundreds of fans of Juventus were trapped against the fences, which were fixed and had no emergency exits, under pressure from thousands of fans. The situation bristled fans situated in the rest of the stadium, powerless from their localities. Some fans, whether one or the other team, reached onto the field armed with sticks and other objects, and went to areas of the hobby with the intention of assaulting her rival. The security forces then engaged to take up positions to prevent the situation was over. Lanyards made trying to separate the areas of the stadium, making sealing areas to prevent further invasions occur from one area to another. But did not intervene quickly enough to restore the chaos that had occurred in the zone Z. In addition, closing access to the zone Z so they could not get fans, also prevented them from leaving those who were in it, a fact that turned the area Z in a cage where hundreds of fans were kneaded and crushed by the pressure crowd. The situation continued for many minutes waiting for the arrival of specialists who could take the fences that held fans. There were hundreds of cases of suffocation, crushing and anxiety attacks. Some fans even were evacuated to the field by other fans and security forces, but the number of health workers was inadequate to the situation and many fans received first aid from other fans. Despite being a coach and player at a time, he did very well because during his reign he won one of three league championship and two Carling Cup, including a double of League and Cup in the 1985-86 season. After the departure of Ian Rush to Juventus in 1987, the club hired English-Irish footballer John Aldridge, who had the difficult task of replacing top scorer Ian Rush team. Aldridge scored the first 9 league games, finishing the season with 26 goals, assisting in the achievement of the Premier League title by Liverpool. That same season, but Aldridge missed a penalty in the final of the FA Cup, stopping Dave Beasant, Wimbledon FC goalkeeper launch, finally ending the match 1-0 to Wimbledon. It was the first penalty failed in Liverpool. After a while Ian Rush returned to Liverpool as they did not adapt to Italian football, then put Dalglish Ian Rush and John Aldridge to be the perfect pair in attack.

That same year, Miki Roque would leave the club. On February 6, 2007, two American billionaires buying the club worth about 266 million euros.Estos new owners are George Gillett and Tom Hicks. In May 2007, his team, Liverpool, reached the final of the champions after beating FC Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Chelsea FC in the semifinals on penalties. The final was against AC Milan, the same team they played the final in 2005 but in that year, losing by a 2-1 with two goals from Filippo Inzaghi, Dirk Kuyt would discount at the last minute for The Reds. In the Premier League after poor results, Roy Hodgson is no longer the technical Liverpool on January 8, 2011 and replaces Kenny Dalglish, after 20 years of being away from the club. This would not have a good debut, and his debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford for the third round of the FA Cup the Red Devils win 1-0 with goals from Ryan Giggs. Then in the league, Liverpool lost again, this time to Blackpool, then in the Merseyside derby of the team managed a 2-2 draw. Let's go out all in red. "Shankly Approved and an iconic kit Was Born [3].

The third standard is designed for European competitions, although on occasion varies. Currently the team's uniforms are designed by Adidas from 1985 to 1996. Then they were designed by Umbro from 1973 to 1985 and Reebok for ten seasons until 2006.

Liverpool was the first English team to use a sponsor on the chest of the shirt, after having reached an agreement with Hitachi in 1979. Above the shield is a representation of the Shankly gates with the title of the famous anthem You'll Never Walk Alone. The twin flames are on the two sides of the shield, are a symbol of memory of the famous tragedy of Hillsborough outside Anfield, where an eternal flame burns in memory of those killed in the tragedy.

[Edit] HimnoEl anthem of Liverpool, is called You'll Never Walk Alone, song composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for their 1945 musical "Carousel." In the original Broadway show was performed by Christine Johnson and also (at the end of the story) by Jan Clayton and choir. In the subsequent movie, the theme was interpreted by Claramae Turner (though choked with tears Shirley Jones first tries to sing, but can not), and later echoed by Mrs. Jones and a chorus.

In the musical, the song is played after the death of leader Billy Bigelow, to give encouragement to Julie Jordan, pregnant with a child at the time, and repeated in the final scene to encourage the graduation ceremony in which Louise (daughter both) are participants. As a result, today is very common that this issue is interpreted in this kind of ceremonies in the United States.

The popularity of this song, began already during the first season of this production on Broadway because of the Second World War, as many of those attending the representation had husbands, brothers, boyfriends or fiancés serving in the military and leading the other the sea. The audience seemed to find solace in the message of the song. The powerful union of melody and lyrics suggest that there is always a guide and a friend who will get love and kindness.

Since its release, the song has been sung by many artists, and first appeared on the list thanks to a version of Frank Sinatra, 1945 (which placed it at number 9 on the charts). Patti LaBelle and The Bluebell was ranked 34 in a version of 1964. Elvis Presley's version reached # 90 in 1968. The famous Dutch artist Lee Towers also recorded it on his 1976 album It's raining in my heart as well as other subsequent compilation albums.

You'll Never Walk Alone, and their club motto afición.En England, the most famous version was made in 1960 a group of neighborhood Merseybeat (Liverpool) called Gerry & the Pacemakers, who met with her No. 1 on the UK charts on October 26, 1963, as no left within four weeks. It quickly became the anthem of the local football team and since then is invariably sung by the fans of the Reds just before kickoff.

The song not only belong to Liverpool, but also shared with the Scottish Celtic due to the twinning between computers.

The song "You'll never walk alone" anthem was chosen by chance, the song playing on the loudspeakers of Anfield Road always at the same time, because, obviously, belonged to the tape that was put before all parties But one day the stadium sound system broke and the song did not sound the faithful followers of the Reds used the same soundtrack every Sunday, became aware of the detail and, almost in jest, began to sing, to Apparently the stadium fell silent at the end, suddenly leaped to the lawn equipment and formed a standing ovation that ended with the audience singing again the hymn is sung today in club matches.

[Edit] Rivalries

Merseyside derby at Anfield. [edit] EvertonLa rivalry between Everton and Liverpool is the oldest league derby inlgesa since it covers 112 years ago. The teams have been rivals since Liverpool climbed to first in 1962. The reason for this rivalry is that both are from the city of Liverpool. Each year the teams compete to see who the best team in Merseyside. This rivalry is also known as the Friendly Derby because of the number of families with both fans of Liverpool and Everton. In the classic story register 175 where Liverpool won 65 times, 56 times and Everton tied 54 times. But in return, at Goodison Park, everything was different, forward Peter Beardsley to Liverpool twice in the lead, but Graeme Sharp did the same on both occasions. Ian Rush, headed home, beat Neville Southall and returned to give the advantage to Liverpool. With just a few seconds remaining of normal time, the Everton reserve, Tony Cottee, won the exciting equalizer. But the battle was not over. In added time at Liverpool John Barnes got ahead again, but Everton refused to give up all for lost and Cottee scored again which was the final scoring. Fans were out of breath, commentators speechless and Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, resigned the next day. This was probably one of the best games in history of Merseyside derbies. Ian Rush is currently the top scorer in the derbies with 25 goals in 36 games, even in a game on January 6, 1982 he scored four goals in the 5-0 victory over Everton
